The broken pagination at the bottom of the blog pages has been resolved – we are using a custom loop to display posts, and this breaks the WordPress default pagination, therefore one must use a workaround to make it work again.
I also installed a plugin called WP-PageNavi which does a very handy job of creating some nice navigation.
