Whew, what a year!

Those seasons really sneak up on you. It’s hard to encapsulate 2010 into a single story or message. Instead, we’ll sum up the year the only way we know how – with holiday pun headlines!

O Holy, Crap!  (Why Thank You!)

Absolute Marketing Group was fortunate to receive several awards this year. We were pretty pumped and are now more determined than ever to keep up our reputation.

O Little Town of Bethlehem (PA)

Our most recent story comes from the town of Bethlehem, PA (sometimes these headlines write themselves).  Bethlehem is home to the Just Born candy company (that’s their name, not a holiday pun – honest) which brought its employees to Fargo as “punishment” for not hitting its sales goals.  Absolute countered and stated that if it misses its 2011 sales goals, we’ll fly out to this small east coast town and revamp our own structure. Just Born even offered to give us a personal tour of its facility if we have to make the trip. Pretty sweet, huh? Stay tuned to that one.

Read More about it in our press release.

Angels We Have Hired On

This summer, Absolute Marketing Group hired Tiffanie McLean as our Media Buyer.  Our team continues to grow as we build and reinforce our services and capabilities.  This is just the latest piece of a bigger picture that is becoming clearer, more involved and more exciting every day.

12 Days of Calories

Big news? No.  But seriously, this year the staff overdid it whenit came to holiday treats.  I cut off the list of goodies at 12, but here might be a reason why my pants don’t fit.

  1. Chocolate Cherries
  2. Banana Bread
  3. Sugar Cookies
  4. Spritz Cookies
  5. Soda-cracker Kit-Kat Bars
  6. Peanut Butter Blossoms
  7. Butter Cookies
  8. Peppermint Cookies
  9. Peanut Butter Cups
  10. Peppermint Brownies
  11. Pecan Tassies
  12. Chocolate Truffles

Thanks to Becky, Cas, Megan and Maggie for the sweet eats.

Jingle Bells No More: Huesman Family Stops at 4

Mark and Miranda Huesman celebrated their fourth child, Ava, this year.  Everyone at Absolute was excited to see Mark have another healthy and beautiful baby. Miranda was happy to have a girl.  Best of all, there’s no more paternity leave for Mark. Now he can slave away on all of our upcoming 2011 projects!

Maggie’s Little Boy Child Now A Man: Luke and Maggie Get Hitched

This fall, Interactive Director, Luke Petterson and long-time girlfriend, Maggie Seil, tied the knot.

Finally, we can have a “who’s married” 5-on-5 game next time we go curling. Shirts and skins got a little cold – and awkward.

As we close the book on 2010, there are still questions left unanswered (“What is that noise upstairs?”), media avenues to explore (“Is Bum-vertising still on the table? No? Okay”),  and new opportunities ahead.  If 2011 is as good as 2010,  let’s skip the presents and gingerbread and go straight to the ball drop and champagne. Thanks to all of our clients, vendors, families and friends for continuing to inspire, challenge and believe in Absolute Marketing Group.

Happy Holidays and a Successful New Year to everyone from your friends,

Absolute Marketing Group
